A water level can easily be home made even by using clear plastic bottles each end of the hose. So long as the bottle are water tight sealed to the hose, the perfect level will be obtained. Water ALWAYS finds its own level, even in a hose and when the water is level and still, you have your hose with two ends, mark each end and a corner if going around an edge and thankyou, you have perfect marks for a horizontal line, use the chalk line or a long rule to draw your line.
The benefits of owning a water level over a laser is , no batteries required. one person can use them and the water level will even give you an accurate level mark around a corner (laser levels cannot bend around corners). Some trades get funny looks when using a water level especially in todays techno age, but here at partitioners we think they are a great value tool to have in the van as there are many occassions when the laser is better off sat at home as it simply isn't required. Old fashioned water levels will be around for many years to come and are still widely used for all sorts of jobs.
